Terms and conditions
Terms for using WordFone
These terms explain the rules for using the Creotec Limited calling identity directory. Last updated: 30 June 2026.
1. The service
WordFone is a directory that associates a memorable calling identity with a primary telephone number that has passed our ownership check. It does not provide telephone, emergency, DNS, or domain-registration services and does not guarantee that a call will connect.
2. Accounts and security
You must provide accurate account information, control the email address you use, keep your credentials and recovery codes confidential, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised account use. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account, except to the extent caused by our failure to apply reasonable security measures.
3. Free search and phone verification
Alias search and availability checks are free and may be used without an account. Phone verification is free but requires an account. Verification confirms control of a number; it does not by itself publish an alias, create a permanent reservation, or give an indefinite exclusive right to the alias.
4. Paid publishing, subscriptions, and renewal
An alias becomes live and exclusive in the directory only after successful phone verification and successful payment. Published aliases are annual subscriptions. Auto-renew is enabled by default where supported by the payment provider.
We may send renewal reminders before expiry. If renewal is not completed, an alias may enter a grace period. If it is not renewed before the grace period ends, it may be unpublished and released back to available status.
5. Pricing tiers and discounts
Aliases may be priced as Standard, Short, or Premium based on length, word count, demand, or an administrator premium override. The applicable price is shown before checkout. Founding-customer discounts may be limited by date, registration count, discount mode, or other configuration and may end without further notice once the configured cutoff is reached.
6. Payments and billing providers
Payments are processed by Stripe or another configured payment provider. We do not store full card details. You authorise the payment provider to charge the fees shown at checkout and, for active subscriptions, applicable renewal fees unless the subscription is cancelled or otherwise ends. Payment confirmation and receipt emails may be sent by WordFone, Stripe, or both.
7. Claims, verification, and lifecycle
You may claim only aliases, primary numbers, and display information that you are authorised to use. We may require or repeat verification, make an identity private while verification is incomplete, reject a claim, or suspend an identity where reasonably necessary. If a trademark owner contacts us in writing and provides evidence that an alias word is a registered trademark in the country represented by the suffix, we may cancel the alias and refund the affected alias payment where appropriate. Deleting an identity does not create an immediate right for another person to claim its alias; we hold it for the configured hold period where applicable.
8. Address-style entries
A published primary identity may have address-style entries directing to other numbers. You confirm that you are authorised to publish and direct calls to each destination. WordFone does not verify these destination numbers, and you must not represent them as verified by WordFone.
9. Acceptable use and moderation
Do not use the service for fraud, spam, harassment, impersonation, unlawful marketing, evasion of consent requirements, infringement, or other unlawful or harmful activity. Do not scrape, probe, bypass rate limits or access controls, interfere with security, or misuse reports and appeals. We may investigate reports, apply proportionate moderation, state a suspension reason, and consider appeals.
10. Visibility, private links, and communications
You choose whether a published identity is private, public, or listed. Private active identities may be shown only as active but private, except where you create and share a private access link. Public directory queries may show registration date, renewal date, verified status, and the telephone number after a confirmation step, but not the display name. Listed directory queries may show the same public details plus the display name. You authorise us to send service messages, including account verification, recovery, security, billing, renewal, verification, moderation, and identity-lifecycle notices, to your account email address.
Private access links are bearer links: anyone who receives the link or its QR code may view the details allowed by that link until it expires, reaches its view limit, is revoked, or the identity is no longer an active private identity. Private links and QR codes are shown once only, use required owner labels, and cannot be recovered if the raw link is lost.
Successful private-link views may be recorded in account activity with the link label, date and time, IP address, and device string so the identity owner can monitor usage.
11. Availability, launches, and changes
We may enable or disable countries, suffixes, tiers, or features as part of staged launches, security work, maintenance, legal compliance, abuse prevention, or service improvement. We aim to operate responsibly but do not promise uninterrupted availability, permanent retention, or a particular ranking or discovery outcome.
12. Cancellations, refunds, and local law
Cancellation, refund, consumer-rights, tax, governing-law, jurisdiction, company, and required trading-information details must be completed by the operator before public launch. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or rights that cannot legally be excluded. Questions should be sent to hi.there@wordfone.com.
